In another article Valentin already wrote about the newly announced Windows 10 Mobile devices from Acer. Of course also other brands showcased their new products including Ultrabooks, tablets, 2-in-1 devices and smartphones running the latest version of Windows. In this post I want to present you some of the devices which really caught my interest…
Smartphones
- Acer Jade Primo
- 5.5″ 1080p S-AMOLED screen
- Snapdragon 808
- 3 GB Ram
- 21 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera
- USB Type C
- Acer Liquid M320/ M330
- Lenovo Miix 700
This device is probably the most discussed one (running Windows) from this year’s IFA. With its kickstand and included keyboard cover the Miix 700 could easily be confused with the Surface (Pro) 3 – at least at first sight. Under the hood though there are some differences. Featuring the latest Core M chips (up to m7) it fits right between the Surface 3 and the Surface Pro 3 and could be a nice option for those who want the “Surface-experience” but don’t want to spend as much as you have to for the Microsoft devices. In fact, the keyboard is included in the starting price of $699. I’m actually quite interested in the device and will definitely read and watch reviews when it hits the market later this year. On the other hand, I can’t wait to see what Microsoft announces in fall…
Specifications:
- Up to 6th Gen Intel Core M7
- Up to 8 GB Ram
- Up to 256 GB SDD
- 12″ display (2160 x 1440)
- Toshiba Satellite Click 10
Probably the most interesting fact about this 10″ 2-in-1 device is the claimed battery life of 15 hours on the 2-GB-model and 14 hours on the 4-GB-model. Still, the Click 10 only weighs 1.1 kg (with keyboard). Also the other specifications including an Intel Atom X5 processor and a 10.1″ screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels sound good. But specifications don’t tell everything about a device: In fact the build quality doesn’t seem to be on a very high level according to hands-on reports. Actually, I had the same impression when I tried out the Click mini in a store. Nevertheless, I’m definitely looking forward to reviews about the device…
- Toshiba Dynabook (prototype)
During Microsoft’s IFA event the company provided a quick look at a Toshiba 2-in-1 prototype called Dynabook. So far not much is known about the very nice looking device but according to TheVerge it has a 12″ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1280. And Toshiba also offers a stylus! I’m really looking forward to the coming weeks when we should get more information about the device…
- Asus Zen AiO S
- 21.5″ or 23.8″ Full-HD display (optional 23.8″ 4K display)
- Up 6th Gen Core i7
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
- Toshiba Satellite Radius 12
Once again a device from Toshiba… The Satellite Radius 12 is a quite nice looking 12.5″ notebook with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels or 1920 x 1080 pixels. Also the other specifications are high-end and with a camera which supports Windows Hello and a dedicated Cortana key, the device is fully optimized for Windows 10.
This is my list but of course there are many more interesting Windows device from IFA. Which device caught your interest?
