In this article I want to talk about some interesting numbers.
Windows 10 is now available since 2 months and has been installed over 100 million times. This number was not reported by Microsoft but the Blogger Brad Sams has been informed about this number by an Insider Source. After the first month Windows 10 has been installed on over 75 million devices, so in September there were about 25 million installations. The speed of the Windows 10 installations is reducing and this makes sense. In the first weeks after the release all the power users have updated to Windows 10. Many of the other users are just waiting and maybe they don’t care whether they have installed Windows 7, 8.1 or 10.
The first 100 million installations were the easiest in my opinion but Microsoft is on a good way to reach its ambitious target of 1 billion Windows 10 devices in 2018.
Microsoft has updated its Microsoft by the Numbers website. On this site you can find many interesting and funny numbers about Microsoft and their products.
In the Windows (Phone) Store are over 669 000 apps according to the page. At the beginning of March there were around 585 000 apps in the store. This means that there were 84 000 new apps added in 7 months and on each day around 400! This new number doesn’t mean that the app gap has disappeared but Microsoft is on a good way and we are only at the beginning of the chapter universal apps. It will be very interesting to see how the Windows Store will grow in the next months. Then we can see if the new strategy is working.
There are also some funny numbers: Did you know that the Microsoft employers in Redmond eat about 948 000 orders of French fries each year?
Furthermore Microsoft acknowledge Rudy Huyn and his work for the Windows Store. His apps were downloaded for more than 16 million times!
