Microsoft has just announced some drastic changes to the OneDrive storage. These changes are “a pursuit of productivity and collaboration”. The free OneDrive storage is being decreased 5GB so 10GB less than before. Also the 15GB camera roll storage bonus will be discontinued.
Furthermore all subscribers of Office 365 will not get unlimited storage anymore (actually I never got unlimited storage!). In place of the unlimited storage the users will get 1TB they can use.
New OneDrive users will not get the option to buy a 100 or 200GB. This will be replaced by an 50GB plan. It will cost $1.99 per month and will start being available in early 2016.
I can’t understand these changes and I’m not very happy with them. I don’t know what Microsoft wants to achieve with these changes but I hope they have a good reason for them. The reasons they were publishing with the announcement doesn’t make much sense in my opinion.
