Today Xiaomi announced the successor to its first tablet the Mi Pad. While the first version was only available with Android, the Chinese manufacturer decided to offer both a Windows 10 and an Android version of the new 7.9” tablet.
The specifications look very promising:
- Intel Atom X5-Z8500
- 2 GB RAM
- 64 GB of storage
- 7.9” IPS display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536
- 8 MP back camera, 5 MP front camera
- 6190 mAh battery
- 322 g
Not only the display size and the resolution reminds of the iPad mini from Apple but also the all-metal design has to be inspired by Apples products. The tablet will go on sale in late December in dark grey or champagne gold.
It’s definitely great to see a high-end Windows tablet in this portable factor since other OEMs seem to ignore this market so far – after they released uncountable numbers of small Windows 8.1 tablets.
