I’ve been using my Surface Pro 4 for over a week now and I’m very impressed with the device overall. Of course there are some bugs and problems which can be annoying, but at the end of the day I really had a great experience with the Pro 4 so far. Very important for this great experience is Windows Hello. A feature that I totally underestimated when it was announced and now blows me away.
Fast and reliable
If I had to describe my experience with Windows Hello on the Surface Pro 4 in two words I’d probably pick the ones used in the title above: Fast and reliable. Unlocking the device with this feature is just amazingly quick and works almost every time (definitely 95 % or even more). Furthermore, what I really like is that you don’t have to stare into the sensor(s) directly. You don’t even have to sit right next to device since Windows Hello also works in a distance of about one meter. Moreover, you can even unlock your device when you’re in a dark room.
So convenient – Wished my laptop had it as well!
Windows Hello is just so convenient. I never liked to type long passwords to unlock my devices but since using the Surface Pro 4 typing in my password on my laptop got even more annoying. I’m sure that my next laptop will have to have this feature as well to really satisfy me. Windows Hello is going to be a very important factor for me when buying hardware (at least expensive devices) in the coming years – and I never would have thought that before I’ve used it.
