Microsoft is rolling out a major update to the Wallet App on Windows 10 Mobile. With the update, Microsoft is intodrucing tap to pay with Microsoft Wallet. This feature is only available for Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring (Build 14360 or higher) using a Lumia 950, 950 XL or a Lumia 650 and is at the moment an U.S. only feature. Tap to pay will come to all Windows 10 Mobile users later this summer – probably with the Anniversary Update.
Users can enroll their Credit and Debit Cards into the program and can pay with their phone everywhere, where they see the contacless payment or the Microsoft Wallet symbol.
Five banks already support the new Microsoft Wallet app. Three more are coming soon.
- Bank of America
- BECU
- People’s United Bank
- Virgina Credit Union
- First Tech Federal Credit Union
- Fifth third Bank (coming soon)
- Chase (coming soon)
- US Bank (coming soon)
I am really happy that this feature is finally available on Windows 10 Mobile aswell. Nevertheless, I hope that it will not be a U.S. only feature for a long time but that it will be available in more countries soon.
