Microsoft has just announced Windows 10 S at its #MicrosoftEDU Event. Windows 10 S was previously known as Windows 10 Cloud and is the OS for schools and students. With Windows 10 S, Microsoft is trying to attack Google’s Chromebooks.
Windows 10 S is a simplified version of Windows 10 that can only run apps from the Windows Store. Nevertheless, if you really need to download and install user programs you can upgrade Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro.
Devices running Windows 10 S will take way less time to start up than Windows 10 Pro devices. Microsoft said that it will take less than 5 seconds to start up Windows 10 S when a user has already logged into it earlier.
