Windows Mixed Reality Devices have a major problem – the lack of proper input mechanism. At the moment you can only connect your Xbox Controllers and use them as the input device.
The Windows Mixed Reality Motion Controllers which have been announced today, are new input devices. They will offer responsive and precise tracking of movement in your field of view using the sensors in the headset. You do not need to install any additional hardware on the walls around you.
The controllers will be made and sold by different PC OEMs and will go on sale this holiday. Acer for example will start selling a Windows Mixed Reality headset and motion controller bundle for $399 this holiday.
