The new Surface Laptop has launched yesterday, together with the new Surface Pro. Today, I had the chance to take a closer at the latest member of the Microsoft Surface Family.
Look and Feel
What should I say: The Surface Laptop looks and feels awesome! It is thin, it is light and the aluminum finish of the device is just beautiful. The lid of the Surface Laptop can be opened effortless with one hand which is really important for a high quality laptop.
The Surface Laptop features a 13.5-inch screen with a resolution of 2256×1504. The brightness is OK but it could be higher. Overall, the display is a really good one (probably one of the best on a 13-inch laptop).
One of the most interesting parts of the new Surface Laptop is definitely the Alcantara Keyboard.
The fabric on the keyboard feels really good and gives a unique feel to the device. The keyboard itself is quite similar to the Surface Type Covers and provides a great typing experience. It comes with a three-stage backlight which is a nice thing.
The Surface Laptop offers a big precision trackpad with a glass layer. The trackpad works really well and has a high accuracy. Clicking and tapping on the trackpad also works well.
The Surface Laptop is definitely a great piece of hardware and Microsoft made a great job with this device. It looks and feels awesome and has no major disadvantages. What do you think of the new Microsoft Surface Laptop? Tell us in the comments!
