Reports from earlier this week were saying that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will be called Autumn Creators Update in some countries. Now it turns out that this is not going to be the case.
Today, Microsoft confirmed that there is no Autumn Creators Update and that the name was only shown in some countries due to mistranslation. The update will be known as the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update everywhere.
It is quite clear that Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is a bad product name. Some countries do not call the season “Fall” but refer to is as “Autumn”. If the update had different names in different countries, that would have totally confusing.
I really hope that the next Windows 10 updates will have better names which make sense in all parts of the world.
