At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Huawei today announced the new MateBook X Pro. The laptop comes with really thin bezels around the display and has an attractive design in general.
The 13.9 inches touchscreen offers a resolution of 3000×2000 with an aspect ratio of 3:2. The position of the webcam is really interesting. To make the bezels so small, Huawei had to find a different position for the camera. They have built the camera into the keyboard of the MateBook X Pro which looks quite unfamiliar.
The device is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. You get up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Furthermore it has a discrete Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU.
Huawei has added two USB-C ports, one USB-A port and a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner to the laptop. According to Huawei you can “work regularly” for 14 hours on the laptop.
You can choose from two colors: Space Grey or Mystic Silver. The Huawei MateBook X Pro starts at 1499€ (i5,8GB,256GB) and goes up to 1899€ for the version with the i7,16GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The laptop will start being available in Q2 2018 in China, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Nordic.
