Microsoft plans to open a Microsoft flagship store in London. This store will be the first store in the UK and also in Europe. Microsoft fans and customers will be able to checkout products from the company on Regent Street at Oxford Circus. The concept of the store in London will be similar to other flagship store from Microsoft for example in New York City. Customers will be able to take a look at hardware and software from Microsoft and also from their OEM partners. Furthermore, there will be opportunities to play games on the Xbox or to test the HoloLens etc..
Cindy Rose, head of Microsoft in the U.K., says: “We couldn’t be happier to be opening a flagship store in the heart of central London at Oxford Circus, where two of the world’s most iconic shopping streets meet. We know our customers and fans, whether they are from London, the broader U.K. or just visiting, will love our bold plans for the space. This will be so much more than just a great place to experience all that is possible with Microsoft, but a real hub for the community where we’ll be bringing to life our passion for helping people explore their creativity through an ambitious program of workshops and training along with moments that work to unite the community.”
Rumors suggest that Microsoft is close to sign a 10-year lease of a building at 255-259 Regent Street. This building is currently used by United Colours of Benetton and is close to the Apple Store.
At the moment there is no specific date when the store will be opened but it probably still take some month or even a year until we can buy products from Microsoft in the store in London. I am really excited about the plans from the company because I am a big fan of the concept of the stores.
